Door Lock is a 2018 South Korean thriller film directed by Lee Kwon. This movie was written based on a 2011 Spanish movie called Sleep Tight. Sleep Tight tells us the story from the perpetrator's perspective, while Door Lock tells us the same, but from the victim's point of view.

Synopsis

Kyung-Min (played by Gong Hyo-jin) is an average woman living by herself in a one-room apartment. One day, she finds her highly secured door lock cover is left open when she arrives at her place after work. She somewhat feels scared so she changes her door lock password.

However, on the same night when she's about to go to sleep, she hears someone trying to unlock her door. Shocked by this, she calls the police but yet, the cops only show annoyance and feel no sympathy towards her.

A few days later, she finds more traces of a stranger trying to break into her room, and soon a serious murder incident occurs. Realizing that her safety is threatened while the cops seem useless, she starts investigating on her own.

My Personal Review

Have you ever heard someone trying to break into your house while you are about to go to sleep or maybe you had a fear of someone entering your house while you are not there? Well, Door Lock Korean movie is here to bring your fear to a real thrilling life experience.

Door Lock 2018 | Korean Movie Review

Imagine that someone has been living with you in the same house all this while but you never realize it until you found a hint that soon brings you to unravel a complicated mysterious puzzle.

In the beginning plot of Door Lock, Kyung-Min thoughts that someone is just trying to break into her room in one fine day, but actually she has been living with that stranger all this time!

The electronic door lock is a kind of thing that is very common in Korea and considered as highly secured where only the person who knows the password can enter the room. While living by her only self, Kyung-Min is frightened that someone might know her door lock password.

Having seen these door locks are very familiar in other Korean movies and dramas, I've ever wondered how secured this thing could be compared to other locks that common as in my own country and every scene in this movie has given me the real shot to that question.

The door Lock movie has brought up too much suspense in me, with countless suspicious things twisted my brain. The writer really takes a very real-world ''what if'' scenario, and builds a highly thrilling and suspenseful narrative in this film.

There are scares, but more to tension feels rather than jump-scares. You might predict some twisted in this movie but sometimes your prediction can just go wrong because there are too many stages haha.

One thing that I don't really like in this movie is the way they portray the male characters. It's just my personal feeling that I would be deadly insane if I live in a community that has most men that behave like them with most of them have the possibility of being a psycho, pervert, murderer, stalker, or even a rapist.

Even the decent police officer Detective Lee, a knight in shining armor at the most part of the ending story, fails to take the woman seriously from the very start and he ever believed that she was capable of the murder that happened in her own apartment before.

*dasar laki-laki ngga ada akhlakk

Nonetheless, the Door Lock movie is worth keeping an eye on. The way they narrate the woman who is in distress facing her worst life experience feels so real, leading her to be really determined in finding out the truth by herself before going in too deep over her head.

If you're in the mood for a thriller genre movie, watch the Door Lock movie now!

Simple Tips to Get Naturally Glowing Skin Overnight

Have you ever thought that it would be nice if you're born with naturally glowing skin? Natural glowing skin will always make your skin complexion do better even with minimal makeup but every person was born with different skin conditions.

Your lifestyle habits such as diet and nutrition, sleeping cycle, smoking and alcohol consumption, sun exposure, or lack of proper skincare routine might ruin the glow that you deserve on your skin.

One day, you have been invited to an event at the very last minute but you afraid that your current not-so-well skin would overthrow your self-confidence to appear in front of other people. Do you think there's a possibility to achieve naturally glowing skin... overnight?

Of course, yes!

The method of getting natural glowing skin overnight is to do the right things before you go to bed and there's always the simplest way to get it done.

Simple Tips to Get Naturally Glowing Skin Overnight

I have compiled a list of tricks you can do to help your skin regenerate for a natural glow while you sleep overnight and you'll be amazed how simple it's to take care of your skin.

I've tried some of the following ideas with great results for glowing skin and I'm glad to share it with you guys. Keep in mind to always take off every trace of your makeup and cleanse your skin thoroughly before applying any of these methods.

1. Use A Sheet Mask Before Bed

Sheet masks are great for hydrating skin. Wearing a sheet mask as the last step of your night skincare routine can indulge the skin with an abundant dose of extra moisture while you sleep and gives you a natural glow when you wake up.

But, make sure to take it off before you go to sleep and let the remaining essence do their job on your skin. If your skin is well-hydrated throughout the night, your skin will glow automatically in the morning, making the makeup process easier.

In fact, the skin is the largest organ of the human body that requires proper hydration to perform its function properly. The water content in your skin can contribute to the plumpness, resiliency, and elasticity of the skin surface. That's exactly what makes your skin naturally glow!

Given the fact that our bodies are made up of more than 60% water, it comes as no surprise that water is one of the most important roots to sustain the overall health of the human body which includes nourishing the skin inside out.

2. Massage Your Face With Face Oils

The biggest reason why I really love using face oil and never miss to include it in my makeup routine is that it provides my skin with a naturally glowing effect that doesn't look FAKE.

Instead of your regular moisturizer, massaging your face with face oils before you put on your makeup (it's even better to do it at night before you sleep) is a great step to getting natural glowing skin overnight as it'll deeply hydrate your skin.

I don't really know the science behind the functions of essential oils on our skin, especially for glowing skin but I'm sure that face oils can help to protect the skin from water loss and it's a great hydration agent too!

Thus, using pure face oils can save you from any chemical emulsifiers which can usually be found in most face creams or lotions in the beauty market as they need to keep the oils from separating with the water. [Essential oils are basically extracted from plants]

...

You might be wondering if it's okay to apply face oils on oily skin but the reality is that it's actually great in balancing this type of skin.

It's understandable to be confused with the saying that face oils are good for oily skin, like- your skin is already greasy, why would you add more oil to it? It's just that's not how your skin actually works

Face oils help to moisture the skin, which will keep your skin from over-producing oil (to compensate for your over-drying skin). I'm an oily skin type person who's been using face oils for years now and it does great on my skin.

You'll get the bright and shiny effect (but it's not that greasy) on your face when you apply the face oil, which will give you a natural GLOW look.

3. Wear Sleeping Mask

Sleeping masks are different from particular sheet masks. It's a thing that you puts on your skin overnight while you are sleeping (don't need to wash it off). One of my favorite sleeping mask is, of course, the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. It's everyone's favorite tho.

One of their managers explained that sleeping masks are designed to strengthen the skincare routine and also work as overnight hydration to the skin while you sleep. The right sleeping mask would be the key to sound sleep too.

You'll wake up in the morning with the natural glow on your skin as it's already getting sufficient moisture throughout the night.

4. DIY Honey Mask

Do you have a jar of honey in your kitchen? Use it to make your skin radiant! Honey helps to open the pores and clear away the dirt because it's also categorized as an antibacterial, to prevent and treat acne problems.

DIY-ing a honey mask is as simple as it possibly is: just take 2-3 spoons of honey from the jar and apply it all over your face. Leave it for 15-20 minutes before you rinse it off. It would be better if you could mix the honey with milk, you'll get tons of nutrients to help restore your skin's glow overnight.

5. Drink Plenty of Water

Tank up the water content in your body by drinking plenty of water a day before. Dehydration can cause many health issues, especially to your skin- dull skin, large pores, flaky skin, or extreme dryness. Hydrating yourself in and out would make your skin feels more lively and better chance for naturally glowing skin.

6. Get A Good Sleep At Night

This last tip is crucial. Make sure to go to bed early after you finish your night skincare routine so you can get enough sleep for at least 7 hours at night. Your skincare will work wonders to gives you a natural glow if you can get a good beauty sleep at night.

When you're not getting enough sleep, your skin will always pay the price. Puffy face and eye bags in the morning, urgh scary!

CONCLUSION

I leave you will all my favorite tips above for you to get naturally glowing skin overnight. My skin is radically improved after I practiced all these tips. I enjoy waking up with glowing skin as it requires me less effort to get ready in the morning with such very minimal makeup. You should try it too!

How to Know Your Skin Type

What drives you when choosing a specific product for your skin? You can't rely completely on other people's reviews or recommendations to buy a skincare product because the most basic thing in skincare is knowing your skin type.

How often you should wash and exfoliate your face, types of moisturizer or sunscreen that suits your skin, the necessity of an oil cleanser, and many other things related to skincare will all depend on your skin type.

Knowing your skin type allows you to choose the right products and customize a skincare regime that'll work best for you. Skin type is determined by genetics but it can also vary greatly according to several internal and external factors.

So, instead of just taking a guess, figure out your skin type and let's dive deeper into this topic so you will know for sure.

WHAT ARE THE 4 TYPES OF SKIN?

There are 4 basic healthy skin types: normal, dry, oily, and combination skin.

How to Know Your Skin Type
from ImanAbdulRahim | by 'The Little Book of Skincare'

1. Normal Skin

Normal skin is a wide term used to refer a well-balanced skin. The skin is neither too dry nor too oily and it's always has a regular texture with overall balanced sebum and moisture.

You might have some pores along the T-zone area but it's not too much. Most of the time, people with normal skin don't really need any special care of their skin and will experience rare breakouts.

2. Dry Skin

Dry skin usually happens because the skin is lacking moisture. It's generally a feeling of tightness and flakiness of your skin even when you do not touch it.

Sometimes your skin can be irritating if it's too dry that it can eventually be cracked, leaving it more exposed to bacteria and caused other skin problems if it's not properly managed. In some serious cases, the cracks of your skin may be too deep and it can even bleed.

It may also occur because of several external factors such as the usage of certain products, the temperature of current weather, or the immersion in hot water.

3. Oily Skin

Oily skin is caused by excessive sebum production from sebaceous glands and normally, you'll have larger pores. These glands are found under the skin's surface. Sebum isn't totally bad since it also helps to protect and moisturize your skin and it's actually an oily substance made of fats.

It's usually determined by some hormonal causes or genetic. Most people with oily skin are related to breakouts and the existence of acne because if you don't cleanse your face properly, the oil will clog your pores and causes many skin problems.

4. Combination Skin

Combination skin is generally a characteristic of both dry and oily skin where the T-zone area (forehead, nose, and chin) of your face is usually more oily while the other area (cheeks) is normal or a bit dry. This can happen when the distribution of sebaceous glands is not homogeneous (equivalent).

SENSITIVE SKIN

Some people might have this type of skin.

It's a condition where your skin can react easily to certain things you put on your face or the environment. It's a contrast to normal skin which usually has no reaction to these kinds of factors. Sensitive skin is fragile and always needs extra caution and care.

Sensitive skin is more prone to inflammation and other unfriendly reactions as this type of skin are typically loses its barrier function to protect the skin, causing bacteria and other irritant substances to enter the deeper layer of the skin easily.

Taking care of sensitive skin can be quite challenging and it'll take some time and effort to determine which ingredient in your skincare products cause bad reactions to your skin. To make things easier, use only one product or formula at a time and always do patch testing before trying a new product.

HOW TO KNOW YOUR SKIN TYPE?

The Bare-Face Method

This is the most common way to know your skin type and it's easier to do. It's called the bare-faced method and here are the steps:

1. Wash your face. Cleanse your face thoroughly with a mild cleanser you normally use and rinse it off.

2. Use a clean towel to gently pat your skin dry.

3. Leave your skin bare for 2 hours after you cleanse (do not apply any other skincare: moisturizer, toner, serum, etc).

4. After 2 hours, examine your skin condition:
  • If your skin feels tight or parched, especially when you smile or make any other facial expressions, you most likely have dry skin.
  • If your skin starts to feel greasy and you notice a shine on your T-zone area and also on your cheeks (maybe less oily than your T-zone area, but it still oily), your skin is likely oily type.
  • If there's any noticeable shine on your T-zone area but the other area seems dry, your skin is mostly to be a combination
  • If your skin doesn't fall under any of those conditions above, you have normal skin that only requires low maintenance. (You're so lucky!)

Use A Blotting Paper

Using this tool is most likely an excellent method to differentiate between oily and dry skin area. After 2 hours you cleanse your face and leave it bare, gently pat the blotting papers on the different areas of your face.

Then, hold up the sheet to the light to examine how much oil is visible to certain areas. Determine your skin type by looking at which areas cause the blotting paper more saturated with oil. [Use the same guides above to check.]

CONCLUSION

Our skin is unique and taking steps to identify its proper care and needs is essential for it to function at its best. If you want more accurate results of your skin type, you can always refer to doctors as they can analyze your skin condition thoroughly.

Trailer

Baek Hee Sung seems like an ideal husband and he's kind of a good example of what a husband should be. He works as a craftsman and able to provide a good life to his wife and their precious daughter.

But his wife, Cha Ji-Won doesn't know that he actually has been hiding his cruel past and changes his identity since they first met. She remains unaware of it until she finds herself a dark track that could break the very foundations of her happy life with her family while investigating a particularly cruel case.

As a cruel crime detective, it's her job to uncover as many truths while working on all her cases and it eventually leads her to track down her husband's past. Baek Hee-Sung's perfect disguise has completely deceived his own wife.

Personal Review

I insisted to watch this drama at first because of Lee Joon-gi, without knowing what the story is actually about. But, after I watch the trailer and being fed with countless feedbacks from people on Twitter, I would say, this drama is insane

Imagine, a DETECTIVE married to a CRIMINAL.

Cha Ji-won (Moon Chae-wonhas been loving a man she actually doesn't know at all for freaking 14 years and they even have a grown-up daughter. Baek Hee-sung (Lee Joon-gi) has been showing everything his wife wants to see as what normal people would deserve in a happy married life and all those smiles he ever gave, the loves he has always been showering to his devoted wife, are all he has been practicing his whole life.

He's doing too well is all I can say.

I always wondered how it feels to be deceived by relatives (kinda whim, your loved one) for years and this drama has given me a brutally hurt shot. It's true that secrets have a way of coming out even it has to be in a way that we could never expect.

Baek Hee-sung always seems a loving husband and committed father but he's practically mentally sick inside. The moment his wife starts suspecting him while investigating a related murder case and thoroughly chases his past at the same time gave me countless nerves during my watch.

Cha Ji-won had a hard time when she starts doubting a man she has head over heels in love with for years and she's determined to bring her psychopath husband to justice.

This drama is beautifully narrated and filled with endless suspense as well as extensively character exploration. All the things the characters have said and shown in the whole drama really hit right into the heart.

The story takes its time to develop in the first few episodes and then it goes quickly escalates. I'm surprised at how much I've invested by the moment the ill-fated chains of events begin. Everything is about to get destroyed by the sudden turn of events that lead to uncovering a past mysterious murder case.

I love it the most when they do the flashback scenes, the quiet heartwarming background sounds make it feels more majestic and alluring. The music is just too perfect!

Psychopath Husband

And I would say, Lee Joon-gi as the psychopath Baek Hee-sung in this drama is completely splendid! He looks totally dependable in pulling off this character while Moon Chae-won was doing wonder with her acting, fulfilling the roles of a strong woman Cha Ji-won, seeking happiness above all else for her family.

The Ending

I don't want to spoil much here but the ending for this drama is one of the kinds that I've never watch before. The reunion between Baek Hee-sung and Cha Ji-won is just like everything I could have hoped for the entire drama but at the same time it's ruthlessly trigger the ground of my heart.

This drama has a happy ending that's not even a happy one because it's more of a sad ending.

I don't know how to describe it but if you still haven't watch this drama yet, GO WATCH FOR IT. There's too many plot twists that can even blown your mind and see if their marriage is built on a lie. I took hours to clear my tears after I finish watching this drama because i just, can't go on with the ending.

Urgh, what a complicated and tear-jerking drama.

Top 4 Skin Routines You Should Adopt for Great Skin

Let's not deny it- you want great skin but always having trouble being consistent with a skincare routine, right?

Creating a skincare routine would not be so hard as long as you know your basic skin needs. Sure you can follow any kind of skincare routines shared online but you need to listen to your skin first. What is your main skin concern at the moment?

Putting on so many products on your skin without knowing if your skin really needs them would cause a long-term disaster. In fact, the more routines you put on your list, it'll be harder for you to keep your skincare routine on track and it'll surely cost you more money.

Most of us would probably feel more suitable for sticking to the simpler end of things especially when your days are always packed with works or studies but maintaining great skin is also one of your priorities.

glass skin zendaya

Well, let me tell you a secret, you can achieve great and healthier skin without an expensive skincare regime if you adopt these simple skin routines:

1. CLEANSE

This is the first and foremost skincare routine everyone should adopt no matter what condition of your skin are. Your skin must be cleansed from dirt and oils every morning and night.

If you wear makeup, make sure to double cleanse your face properly using an oil cleanser or any makeup remover, and then use your regular cleanser to clean the rest.

Don't ever sleep with makeup on your face and even if you don't wear makeup, you have to at least wash your face before going to bed because you can't guarantee if your face is really clean from any dust or dirt after going out the whole day.

2. EXFOLIATE

Exfoliating is important to do at least once a week to remove the dead skin cells and clogged pores. These can't be removed by just using your normal daily cleanser because they need extra efforts to be eliminated.

Clearing these clogged pores and dead skin cells away is crucial for clear and balanced skin.

If you don't exfoliate your skin, the dead skin cells will eventually make your skin become dull and look older while clogged pores can cause acne so that's why you have to exfoliate your skin regularly. But you can't do exfoliating every day because over-exfoliating your skin will cause irritation and make your skin drier.

There are many ways to exfoliate your skin but the most common and popular exfoliate is using a face scrub. Using a face scrub is much more hassle-free and you can even get them in nearby drugstores. It's the simplest step to prevent dreaded blackheads and whiteheads on your skin.

3. MOISTURIZE

Maintaining your skin hydration is one of the greatest hacks. If your skin is not getting a sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration itself will turn your skin to dry, being tight, and flaky.

It same goes for your whole body, without water, the organs can't function properly at their best.

You can't rely solely on just drinking more water every day but your skin also needs a direct application of 'water' as well. Most people tend to skip this step because they think it'll make their face becomes more oily. Hello, people with oily skin also need to moisturize their face.

If you do not provide a sufficient amount of moisture to your skin, your skin will moisture itself by producing oil hence making your face looks oily.

Your skin may be dehydrated and lacking water content, but it still can produce oil. In fact, your skin produces more oil to compensate for the lack of moisture in your skin.

So, don't forget to moisturize your skin and make sure to choose a suitable moisturizer based on your skin type. If you have oily skin, use a moisturizer with a high content of water (watery & lightweight texture) rather than cream-based so it'll absorb fast into your skin.

Make sure your hands are clean before applying the moisturizer on your face, tau!

4. PROTECT YOUR SKIN

Protect? From what? Why do I need to protect my skin?

All your efforts of cleansing, exfoliating, and hydrating your skin regularly would go to waste if you do not protect your skin from UV rays. UV rays are harmful to your skin as it can cause sunburn, wrinkles, skin cancer, and pigmentation.

What are UV rays?

It's either comes from the sun or any other high-temperature surfaces. Exposure to UV rays can trigger your skin's pigmentation cells as they need to filter out the UV sun rays by themselves.

How to prevent this?

WEAR SUNSCREEN/SUNBLOCK.

Sunscreen or sunblock is designed to protect your skin against these rays, by creating a barrier for your skin tissue and prevent it from absorbing the rays direct into your skin.

Please cover your skin as much as you can even though you're indoors for the whole day (because those windows can't block out the UV rays unless you live in a totally dark cave, no lights at all), and stay out of the direct sunlight at peak altitude.

I know it's hard to apply sunscreen to your skin EVERY DAY but trusts me, starting off your sunscreen from your younger age would not disappoint you in the future.
